What was your inspiration?
For Fan Expo 2011 my group costume was that of Monster High, a series and doll line that I absolutely LOVE! I wanted to do something different than the normal outfits they wear so I ended up designing the casketball team and fearleading uniforms :D This is Deuce Gorgon, lucky number 13!
What are you most proud of?
The hair on the character is inspired by the gorgons of myths (Medusa is explained to be Deuce's mother) and it was something I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to execute without having to do insane f/x makeup. My solution was to hand screen a square scale type pattern like that on the original characters head and then create a hat with plush snakes coming out of it. I love how it turned out and couldn't be happier!
I made or modded everything he is wearing (minus the shoes) and it was a huge amount of work but I am so proud of how this turned out! :D
