Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Casual, Funky

Materials

Denim and lace, lots of machine embroidery, all the seams are decorated with gold metallic thread for a very rich effect.

What was your inspiration?

I have a pile of old jeans, and I LOVE crazy quilts, I've never made one before, and it's too hot to spend much time outside this year, so I went crazy with my embroidery machine! this is a work in progress, it's not finished yet and I will update it as I complete more blocks and finish it up, it will be a king size quilt when finished... :)

What are you most proud of?

a lot of the lace is also made on my embroidery machines... I didn't know it did that!! :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

No patterns!! use a muslin square and sew the pieces to it!! voila! This has taken a VERY LONG time to complete, lot's of hours of sewing and embroidery... sorry it's taken me awhile to update... should be finished soon..

Beautiful! I would never have thought to use denim in a crazy quilt! I, too, have quite the stash of old jeans that I hope to put to use some day.

The laces are stunning, what embroidery machine do you have that makes these?

apparently ANY embroidery machine can make them, you just need the designs and water soluable solvy or equivalant as the stabilizer, I'd never done it before, now I'm hooked!!
