Used deer panels to make the blocks of the quilt. used a variation of flying geese as borders.
What was your inspiration?
Found the middle panel on ebay and wanted to make a quilt for my stepson. I found more deer panels and added border to make them all the same size with fabric from my stash.
What are you most proud of?
I wanted arrowheads for the borders but I settled for triangles (using a flying geese type pattern). On the solid brown pieces I hand quilted deer tracks and my stepson's initials The rest is quilted by the piece and each deer block is quilted around the picture. This fits a king or queen size bed.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Panels are great inspirations. They have your colors already picked out for you.
