What advice would you give someone starting this project? The Jacket Express presents so many opportunities for creativity. It's a pattern that you will use over and over again.

I stenciled Decolourant Plus on the collar, yokes, pocket flaps, pocket welts and cuff facings. It takes some testing and patience to get it right on such a heavy fabric. The matching topstitching pulls the look of the jacket together nicely.

The vertical seams are stitched using the flat felled seam I was taught by Janet Pray when I took the Islander Certification Course, rather than the method described in this course. It worked beautifully. You can see how clean the finish is on the inside of the jacket in the third photo.

Very nice results. I really like the decolourant effects. I'm also using a blue denim but mine has a bit of lined texture in the fabric. I plan to use snaps as we'll but what metal I haven't decided. dt
