Deco-organizing a Spindle Collection

Instructions

There’s nothing more cost-effective than decorating with items you already own. And there’s nothing more satisfying than organizing in a creative way. Put them together and you get “deco-organizing”. Here is that approach applied a collection of hand spindles.

Difficulty:

Category: Spinning

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky, Eco-Friendly, Mod, Casual

Materials

spindle collection, re-cycled florist vase, coffe mug, large glass jar, handmade garlic basket

What was your inspiration?

it occurred to me to gather my collection together in a way that both gave me more enjoyment as well as out-in-the-open daily accessibility. What Ive come up with here is not terribly earth shattering. Anyone can do it (and probably do it even better than my humble attempts). But as I said, its sort of fun to be able to look around at what you already have and let it do double-duty in the home decorating arena, all for no added cost.

What are you most proud of?

This no-cost decorating scheme of mine is just a barely veiled rationalization that helps alleviate my inner guilt when I buy more spindles, lol.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just look around at what you have now rather than buying anything special. Sometimes our best (and most fun!) creative outlets are realized when we are constrained to only what is on hand.

I have done this in my studio. I think spindles are a work of art. :)
