What are you most proud of? I don't make a lot of contemporary Menswear, so i was out of my comfort zone a bit. Give me a doublet or a French Court jacket any day. I'm also used to sewing for theatre where we have a 3metre rule, there is no up close scrutiny as with a wedding. So I really took time on the stitching details of the shirts, but probably the French Cuffs & sleeve welts are what I am most proud of.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The Japanese pattern books are great if you know what you are doing. You'll really need to concentrate with drafting the pattern as the seam allowances with the shirts constantly change & you might need to search other styles for the instruction illustrations. I was flipping all over the book - a collar here, a welt there & shoulder seam somewhere else. I also has a good quality shirt along side me to check details, I'm notorious for putting buttons on the wrong side of shirt fronts & cuffs.
