Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Bag-Making Basics: Reversible Tote & Zipper Pouch »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Girls

Style: Funky, Whimsical

Materials

Cotton fabric and cool brass zipper

What was your inspiration?

I made this bag for my daughter's Japanese host "sister". She was visiting from Japan and she likes skulls.

What are you most proud of?

I "used what I had". I only bought 1/4 yard - not having the supply list with me. The zipper was also 7" instead of 9". That will teach me not to bring the supply list to the store. I just decided to make the bag to fit the fabric I had so as not to "waste" anything.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just enjoy and let the fabric "talk to you" and don't be constricted by the pattern size. You can make the bag any size to fit your zipper!
