Hey Scheri! Nice to meet a fellow Canadian in Oz! Thanks for the complement. Oddly I miss the snow but not the freezing cold of Winnipeg. -38 is a bit much for me :)

This is such a pretty maxi. ...very nice work. What is it like to sew with voile? Any difficulties? Did you have to use any special techniques? I would like to try it, but not sure if I can handle it.

Hello there and thank you for your complement! In my experience, there are different weights and qualities of cotton voiles. This one was a bit heavier, almost a lawn and I found it a dream to sew with! In general I find both cottons and linens very easy to sew with. They dont slip around, the seams are easy to keep together and they press well. So, if youd like to sew with an easy fabric, I can recommend trying cottons or linens. If you would like some hints/tips on working with these two lovely fabrics, I have and can recommend Susan Khaljes book entitled Linen and Cotton. You can get it online instantly as an ebook from Threads Magazine http://www.tauntonstore.com/linen-and-cotton-khalje-ebook-077752.html. There is a lot of great information on the fabrics, how to care for them and the best practices for sewing them to achieve good quality results. All the best, and yes, you can handle it just fine!!!

Thank you. Your reply was very helpful. I have heard of that book. I think I will buy it now. Linen and cotton are my favorite fabrics to wear.

Yeah, Susan's books/courses are never waste of money IMHO! All the best!
