What was your inspiration?

I wanted a pretty dress to wear to my work Remembrance Day celebration. I am playing 'The Last Post' , and I felt the occasion called for a special dress.

What are you most proud of?

Everything. I can't wait to wear this to work!

Well, I spent around six hours working on a couture style skirt, only to majorly screw up the lining (the scissors slipped... 'nuff said), I took apart all my hand sewing for some odd reason, and I am almost back to square one. Hopefully I'll have an amazing couture skirt by the end of the week to show off here!

i like this dress! i want to try making it myself. what kind of fabric to you recommend? i'm not a fan of wool........

I think you could make this out of almost anything. The finer the fabric, the more dressy it becomes. A word of caution though, if you are going to go the knit route, make sure you size down a bit.
