Dainty roses pinafore

(c) Full Knitted Jacket

(c) Full Knitted Jacket

Instructions

I designed this pinafore pattern from two different styles of pinafores my girls already had. There are still some kinks I want to work out of this one,.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Girls

Style: Cute, Casual, Retro / Vintage, Traditional, Outdoorsy, Eco-Friendly, Classic, Romantic, Whimsical

Materials

This is an upcycled project. The pattern was made on reused paper bags and the pinafore itself is sewn from an old Egyptian cotton pillow case.

What was your inspiration?

Warm summer days, Sweet Williams, Bachelor Buttons, sleeping Violets dozing in the shade. Climbing Roses, drooping Wisterias, peeking Pansies peering out of a garden corner. Tea parties in the garden, picnics in the lawn, watching butterflies dance on he breeze.

What are you most proud of?

I loved these pillow cases and I am glad I was able to give this one new life as an adorable little top for my daughter. Dainty flowers, simple lace and ribbons and sweet little heart buttons make this a perfect little girls pinafore!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This project still needs some fine tuning before I send some one else out on this adventure.

Love this and love your wee girl! I remember when my own was this age. She now is in college. She was about this age when she motioned to me she wanted to sit and sew at my machine! I let her, and she did a simple straight seam! She majors in costume design! Have a great weekend!

Ha, she knew what she wanted to be from day one! What a great story! You have to love the little crafters at heart.
