96% cotton 4% Lycra reversible denim from Vogue Fabrics Poly thread Jeans buttons

What was your inspiration?

I was at the 2013 Sewing and Stitchery Expo last weekend and this denim jumped out at me at the Vogue Fabrics ginormous booth. It was only $6.99 per yard, so I figured what the heck! I made a pair of jeans (3rd pair) using Kenneth King's craftsy course and they fit perfectly. However they were bootcut and I wanted skinny jeans this time.

What are you most proud of?

That I was able to alter my custom pattern and have it work out perfectly. I also am proud of how well the waistband turned out on this, now my 4th, pair! The seam lines match exactly at the front, and I love the way Kenneth teaches this part...using a basting stitch for the first 4 inches in order to test whether the left front waistband seam matches with the right. They also fit perfectly too!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time, patience is a virtue one must have with sewing. Also to enjoy the tedious process of picking stitches when a seam isn't quite right and redoing it.
