I particularly like the chocolate cupcakes! Almost too pretty to pretty to use. I would be afraid of getting them dirty! And, agree with 2strings below - a walking foot is very useful - It is my favorite foot. Hmmm, will you incorporate this design into your favorite things quilt?

Thank you !! I will try the walking foot next time. I hadn't thought of putting one on my 'favorites' quilt but I could. I need more blocks to fill it up. Thanks for the idea !!!

the top-stitching looks awful but each piece has 4 layers to sew through. So when I put them together and tried to sew, it wasn't coming out the way I planned. I need an instructor sometimes, :)

A longer than normal stitch will sometimes make the difference. Did you use a walking foot? I'm not sure how it would work on so many thicknesses, but it can help to keep the stitches evenly spaced.

I used the walking foot to sew the pieces together before cutting them out but I took it off and put the 1/4 " foot on to do the rest. I'll be trying the walking foot for all of it next time. Thank you !!

I think I have solved the problem altogether. I believe the next one I make will have a binding around it instead of trying to top-stitch it. That would look better I think. Gonna try it anyway.

Sounds good. The only way to get it the way you want is through experimenting with different ideas. These would make awfully cute little gifts, so it wouldn't hurt to have a bunch.
