What was your inspiration?
My friend designed this pattern and named it after Corning, NY...The Crystal City.
What are you most proud of?
That I finished it. I started it over a year and a half ago...I got bogged down by other things. It took me a year to piece and another six months to get it quilted and bound. This is not like me. I don't have unfinished projects!
I also did the machine quilting - I'm fine with the all-over meandering but decided to push myself and echo-quilt the stars. I'm not good at straight lines!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have high contrast fabric to show off the stars a bit more.
