What are you most proud of? Figuring out how to work with knits and have it turn out looking fairly good and sewing a knitwear garment that was flattering on me.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I would use a thinner fabric next time or just hem each panel. There are two layers of fabric on each front panel, resulting in four layers of knit on the front and one on your back. It makes the shirt a bit heavy in front, and I had to tack the two panels together at the V to keep the front panel from falling forward.

I made the same pattern and also made the same mistake of following the instructions and ended up with the four layers on front. Its far too thick and heavy. I'll certainly make this again, but just hem the front edges or add a small band I think. Your version looks good, the gathers are nicely done. I think I might also change the layer that goes under the top one. By gathering this hidden layer it adds more bulk underneath and around the waist - I don't think this

OOps - hadn't finished. I was going to say that I won't gather the other front panel next time for a slimmer look.

That's a great idea. I'll have to note that on the pattern for future reference. Thanks!
