Instructions

This is to show how I am trying to identify the cross grain at the crotch. From the front it looks ok but when I try to do the back I can't figure out where to mark. How do I know how much lower the back cross grain should be?

Go back to the front and on the cross grain you have marked, place pins across this line that will protrude onto the back leg. Get your ruler and draw a chalk line right across the leg in alignment wuth the pins. Now at the back crotch line where the inseam intersects, place your ruler and check how far down this is from that chalked line you drew. Measure the distance between the very end of the back crotch and the chalk line (it will be round 3/4 more or less) and then drae a line the same distance across from the original chalked line. a grid ruler helps to ensure this is perfect. Hope this helps... good luck! Lexley
