What was your inspiration?
I find Croknit very interesting because it is more unusual than ordinary crochet. It makes a lovely thick fabric on this pattern, and is more interesting than crocheting a one piece blanket.
There wasn't a pattern out there that I know of and I had seen instructions for a knitted mitred square, so I thought about it and decided if you could have a knitted one, then why not a croknit one. So here it is!
What are you most proud of?
This is my first pattern that I have actually typed up and not left in a notebook with all my scribbles and alterations. I managed to do a pdf of the pattern without instruction, so I am proud of the fact that I have finished it and hope people will like it, and enjoy making it as much as I did. I can't wait to see other people's versions of it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take it step by step. I hope there are no errors in the pattern, but if they let me know, I can alter the pattern. If anyone needs more help I will gladly help them through if they get in touch with me.
For the project you need to know how to croknit (or crochenit) so if you go to http://www.crochenit.net you will find instructions and project patterns. This is where I learned alot about croknit. You do need a needle like a knitting needle, but with a crochet hook at each end.
