Instructions

free pattern online at http://fibermill.yurtboutique.com/crochetroving.htm

You will need a 10.0mm crochet hook and 2-3 lbs of wool roving

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Ethnic, Outdoorsy, Eco-Friendly

Materials

wool roving

What was your inspiration?

to up-cycle what might otherwise be waste wool

What are you most proud of?

using every bit of the fleeces that my farm produces... even the parts that are not "garment-quality".

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

keep your stitches loose and don't stretch the roving. Add as many extra SC on the curves as you need to keep your work flat as you go along.

I might also add that I felted my rug in a sweater bag in my top loading washer on DELICATE cycle (ran it through the agitation part twice ... about 12 minutes total... then let it rinse and spin out) Dry flat , stretching as needed to block the shape.
