Instructions

I really encourage you to try recycled yarn; the 3 sellers listed for my materials are super-excellent!
Don't make the mistake I did; remember to make a right and a left spat! Both of mine are the same! Think anybody will notice?

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Costume

For: Women

Style: Victorian / Steampunk, Funky, Romantic, Retro / Vintage, Goth, Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Four vintage mother-of-pearl buttons from my button box Three different recycled yarns, from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/PenelopesFineYarns , http://www.etsy.com/shop/PirateCatYarns , and http://www.etsy.com/shop/sanmik?ref=seller_info

What was your inspiration?

I have wanted to make these forever, since I go to some steampunk events. Then, the right yarn came along!

What are you most proud of?

The color selection.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This pattern is not that difficult but it does take a while to make. Watch your gauge because the items have to fit, and try it on your boots before you sew on your buttons.
