I have made this not using nylon yarn, although a friend made it from the nylon and I do believe she found the yarn some place in Indianapolis, IN.

Question about pattern... I'm new to crochet & not very experienced with following patterns; is this easy enough for a *newbie* to follow? Thank you ;)

It is a very simple pattern using only single crochet, chains and single crochet together stitches. My 13 year old niece who is a beginner was able to crochet this purse without any questions!

I may have to try this yarn. I've been toying with the idea of finding paper or polyester raffia but I think this may be sturdier. I thought (briefly!) about hemp cording but I don't think my hands could take that. Your lining and zipper work is really nice too. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I love how the nylon barely stretches at all and does not attract dirt or pill like regular yarn.
