I found this pattern in a book that i got from the library. i wish i would have remembered the name of the book because it turned out so nice i would like to make another one in a different color for a friend.

What was your inspiration?

i wanted something fun to put on my daughters bed. something with lots of colors. when i saw this in the book, i knew it was something i wanted to try.

What are you most proud of?

Triangles were always hard for me to get just right. So when i saw that this quilt had the help of special tools to make it turn out, i knew i had to try. and to my amazement, it did!

i spent an hour at the library looking for the book that this pattern was in. and I FOUND IT! Granny Quilts Vintage quilts of the '30's Made New for Today. By Darlene Zimmerman. The cover is pastel-ish. if you order this from amazon, make sure that you get this one exactly . carefully type in the name. there are others with similar names but only one with this name. This Quilt is called Whimsy and is the first quilt featured in the book. it is blue in the book, but i made mine green.

97-4x8 hour glass blocks made from muslin and green fabric i used easy tri mate triangles for a fool proof square. (example here: http://www.simplicity.com/t-tutorials-quilting-Easy-Tri-Mate.asp )

56-4" pinwheel block ( here is example: http://www.frugalquilting.com/quilting_pinwheel_block.htm this is a 4" block) made from muslin and scraps of pastel

42-8" pinwheel block (example here:http://www.quilterscache.com/P/Pinwheel8Block.html this is a 10" block so you will have to alter size to 8") make using pastel scraps and muslin

Thankyou! the colors came from a large selection of scrape fabric i had. the green fabric was a tough choice for me so i had family members vote. they picked a winner
