Antique silk, current cottons, sari scraps all embellished with; Precious Metal Clay (fine silver) , antique buttons, antique lace, hand painted fabric, natural turquoise nuggets, and any thing I could think of.
What was your inspiration?
My friends at Orchards Edge Quilt Shop in Bayfield Wisconsin! We collaborated on a class, I taught the PMC (Precious Metal Clay) part and they taught the quilting part. I thought I better make a Crazy Quilt to experiment a little... and it's oh so fun!!
What are you most proud of?
Using many of my mothers antique pieces of silk she had for years, and teaching others the enjoyment of working with PMC.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just do it! Get that box of scraps out, and start in the middle with your first piece of fabric and just keep going.... have fun. It doesn't matter if any one likes it but YOU... so enjoy!
