What materials did you use? Cotton scraps from other quilts, cotton batting - I didn't have a pattern, just cut out 7" muslin squares and stitched the scraps to them, then later trimmed them to 6 1/2" so that the final square size was 6".

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try a couple of sample squares before you embark on a commitment to making 35 or more! A lot of what I used were leftover strip pieces 2 1/2" in width but there were also a lot of smaller pieces as well. I used quit a bit of my pile of small bits.

I started by laying a smallish piece of fabric in the center of the muslin square, then added another piece to one side, then worked my way around the square clockwise using a stitch and flip technique - press as you go for better results
