Great creativity. How did you learn how to put a zipper in a knitted sweater?

It has to be done by hand. Sewing machine foot messes up the knitting badly. Hand stitches turn out invisible on the knitted side and no one sees the wrong side anyway!

How did the knitting work out using a size 10.5 needle with fingering weight yarn? Was the yarn stretched a lot to accommodate the larger needle?

10/16/2013 Flag

Sorry about the confusion of the yarn. I used Lion Brand Yarn Vanna's Choice which is a medium weight yarn

What a perfectly crazy lacy cardigan!! Love your whimsical color combination, the lacy collar and the way all the bands of color and lace pattern match up...your originality has inspired me to try one myself!

Thanks for the info on the zipper. Did you do small stitches like you would do for a hem on a dress or was there a special stitch? Did you stitch tightly?

10/25/2013 Flag

No particular stitch just back stitch. I did pin the zipper to the edges with regular sewing straight pins.

Thanks for your help on the zipper! You did an amazing job.
