What was your inspiration?
I wanted a fun project where I could not only learn some valuable skills, but also wear the finished project with pride. Thank you, Myra. Great fun!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I've revised this poor sweater so many times that it's probably dizzy. But I never got bored with it. Initially I added a leaf border at the bottom. It's effect was scalloped, which was what I intended, but once I had it on, I didn't care for it. It didn't compliment the sweater, but rather, overwhelmed it. So I took it off, and added the ribbing at the bottom, which is much more to my liking. I added the ribbed cuffs and button band to maintain consistency of design. The sweater sat on my dress form for over a year. Christmas projects and other more immediate projects ("Grandma, we need more hats for your grandson!!") took precedence. However, I'm now finished (sans buttons), and quite pleased. THANK YOU, MYRA. I'll be doing another one in wool later on!!!
