What was your inspiration?
Try any lace patterns and see what happens. Focusing on those patterns that look more like scales, I didn't like them mixed into my usual cardies but did like the pattern.
I have finally decided not to both with buttons on my cardies, I never wear them done up so the hole and button just seem an eyesore for me. I am currently on the look out for a broache I can use if I ever feel the need to close up.
What are you most proud of?
So comfortable to wear. Kept going with the sleeves, frogged, frogged and frogged again! Eventually settled on something simple. Started before my crazy crofter, got stumped on the sleeves then picked it up again and finished the sleeves in an afternoon.
This is my most practial of my cardies, I seem to wear it all the time with jeans.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Follow your gut and go for it. Make sure you like your wool, especially if it's your first. Nothing worse than putting all that work in and loving the end result but hating the colour. This one I love, goes really well with my jeans and I have a lot of blues in my wardrobe.
