Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

Scant seams, stick with it, and experiment with color. I quilted this on a long arm machine.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Casual, Funky, Traditional, Whimsical

Materials

Black, white, yellow, and a splash of green cottons. All cotton thread and batting.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to learn about different blocks, paper piecing, and other techniques.

What are you most proud of?

Keeping up with the class was challenging because I am fairly busy doing other things.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Stick with it and don't get frustrated. Expect to rip a few seams out and a do-over or two.

I do too! However, this is black, white, and yellow. The camera played some tricks on us. I will get a better photo once this is finished and quilted. Thank you for your comment.

Looks great. What are you using for sashing?

Well, I have a lot of the yellow left. So, I was going to go with that. I am kind of thinking that it would look better with black, but I will stick with the yellow. The back will be a nice impressionistic black and white floral. Perhaps I will use yellow sash between the blocks and then a narrow black sash around the blocks and a yellow border. It's an organic process for me.
