What materials did you use? Material from my stash except for the border on the back which was purchased for this quilt.

What are you most proud of? The things I have learned. This project stretched my skills on a few levels. It is good for the grey cells. It was my first attempt at free-motion quilting - not as easy as it looks but more forgiving than I thought it would be.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The sewing level is beginner and the teacher was thorough. (I didn't have to watch every detail because I have been sewing for a long time.) So go for it! I loved digging into my stash and was surprised how it comes together in the end even though I was sure it would be too chaotic.

This is really pretty. I've just joined Craftsy and am doing the BOM 2013 quilt.

I'm planning on doing the BOM 2013 too. So far I'm finding choosing the fabric to be the biggest challenge.

Beautiful work. Love what you did with the hexagons!

Very pretty. Love what you did with the hexies, and your back looks like a quilt in and of itself (I really like how your quilting shows through on the solid blocks!). Well done!

Did you hand quilt or machine quilt it? Do you have a long are machine?

It is machine quilted each block separately and I used one of the methods of quilt assembly I learned taking "Big Projects on a Small Machine". I don't have a longarm machine and actually machine quilted a 90" x 90" quilt on a very basic Pfaff inspired by that same course. Check out Sassy Stars in my projects.
