What materials did you use? The slashed blocks have a very modern feel, but I'm just using fabrics from my stash, which are a little more traditional - a muted green, gold and grey floral for my background and other grey, gold and green fabrics that read more like solids.

What are you most proud of? the backs of my blocks are almost as tidy as the fronts and, so far, my blocks are very close to 12-1/2" square.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? two big plus-sides here: 1. this is a freebie, and 2. the varieties of blocks and techniques have already given me new skills.

Love your fabric choice - the perfect compliment. Are you using your stash, a bundle, or yardage?

all from stash - how cool is that?! the floral background and the dark grey were even both on clearance when i bought them.

oops. running out of that background fabric and can't get more. will have to find very light ivories/creams/greens/golds/grays to substitute!

Hi Donna- Just had to come back and see that gorgeous Asterisk and discovered your other blocks! They're beurtiful. I hope you've been posting them individually on the site - otherwise members might not see them. They're too pretty to miss.

what do you recommend as the best way to post? i.was trying to do each month's blocks in one project album.

Hi, NewbieJean! What do you recommend as best way to post? I was trying to do each month's blocks in their own album (or thought I was)!

Two ways: To show the whole collection on your home page add projects and break up your photos. Some do this by months, others block by block. You can choose which photo people see 1st.. So you could feature your wonderful sewing machine as a "cover". To post new blocks (or all you've done to date) to the entire group use Discussions (located just below the video). This allows one photo at a time and they'll be added to the project gallery automatically. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses to your posts. Your entire project is so cool! Hope this helps.

Oops. Forgive me. It's a different person with a neat machine - a 1912 Treddle! Has a similar situation.

Hi again- reread my answer on posting and realized its confusing.... Click "Projects" from the top menu bar. Next click "Add Project near the top right of the screen". Then fill in the blanks to create a new separate project. You can edit any project by clicking on the pencil icons. Hope this helps.
