What was your inspiration?

When I added some borders on the front of the quilt I didn't think about how much backing I had. I ended up about 20" short. So I thought about the keyboard border I'd added to the front and had plenty of fabric left to play with. I really didn't want the back to like like I ran out of fabric so did the keyboard borders on the inside rather than the edges. It worked great I think.

LOVE the design as well as the backing! I will be doing a king-sized quilt for a friend's son and his wife and will be learning the 3-layer 'row by row' QUILT AS YOU GO technique since I do not have a large machine and want to free-motion it. I've done tying and free motion and LOVE the way the free motion keeps the layers so secure. Eventually I want to learn to sew patterns into the quilt as the securing feature of the layers.

Thank you! The next quilt I do will be quilt as you go. I free motioned this one on my little sewing machine and it was really a pain getting to the center. :)

Very pretty quilt. I'm doing this quilt also but am doing a quilt as you go technique. I just stared it this month and am learning to quilt on my home machine so I'll take my time. Yours inspires me. Thank you for sharing.
