What was your inspiration?

I've been seeing mittens made from recycled sweaters EVERYWHERE! I wanted to buy a pair from Etsy, but just couldn't find the right color combo for me.

Then I remembered that I had some knitted and then felted fabric from a boot project gone wrong... and part of it is this turquoise color that I'm obsessed with... but is discontinued from the yarn manufacturer.

Since I look at my mittens all the time, I thought this was a great place to use it!

What are you most proud of?

They are SO warm!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I hand-sewed the felted wool because it was too thick for my machine. So, I sewed with wrong sides together, and just left the edges raw. It make it a lot easier for me.

The lining (fleece) is sewn right sides together, then turned inside-out as the pattern instructs.
