Category: Crocheting
Type of item: Clothing
For: Children
Style: Cute
Materials
8ply magnum (because it is cheap). Would be lovely in a soft 8ply.
What was your inspiration?
My gran made a sleeping bag (bunting) when my daughter was born and it was so helpful to keep her warm in winter. Especially easy to take her in and out of the car capsule without having to unwrap her.
What are you most proud of?
It looks lovely and very practical.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I would definetly make this again but would not make a detatched bottom as it looks a little messy. Instead I would crochet the body longer and finish with rows of single crochet.
Also, I did not follow instructions for the plackets as I ended up with too many stitches causing the front to be out of shape.
I used a 4.5mm hook instead of a 4 to make it a bit bigger.
I didnt put pom-poms on the hood ties as I dont like pom-poms near the babys mouth.
The instructions for the yoke are wrong so I adjusted the 3 hdc increase to a combination of 3 hdc and 5 hdc to make the yoke big enough so that the arm holes are not too tight.
