Cows For Breakfast?

Original Photo
A little closer
Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Other

Style: Casual

Materials

Commercial fabrics, water resistance wax pastels, free motion quilting.

What was your inspiration?

Joey and Quinn love to chase all the little animals in the yard but on this morning they were wondering what to do with these two cows that wandered into the yard! I loved this photo so that when I took Wendy Butler Berns class on Art Quilting: Pictorial Techniques I knew this was one of the quilts I had to make! Thank you Wendy!

What are you most proud of?

That I actually finished it and also all the quilting I did in the grass and on Quinn, the white dog!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice your stitching first and just keep on going. It is amazing when it is all done! This was a gift to my brother and family and they loved it.

amazing! I have been wanting to do something similar with my two dogs... Guess I will have to take this class! I love your perspective on the window - you got the dimensional aspects just right. And you are right to be pleased, your stitching of the white dog fur was inspired. It looks so real.
