What was your inspiration?
I was asked To design a high fashion dress for some friends who were entering a competition. They wanted something ballet inspired and incorporated newspaper. I had seen a classic Christian Dior dress the had the layered shape I liked with the petals of fabric. I sewed the newspaper like fabric and created a fully laced up corset. the petals on the skirt were each individually hand sewed on.
What are you most proud of?
That the collaborative effort was a huge success and that they won 2nd place. I did the whole design and dress within 2 weeks.
