What was your inspiration?

I love working with Susan, so was very happy that she was offering a course with Craftsy. She has a eagle eye for fitting, even looking at a picture of a muslin.
I'm not sure that the fabirc I used is the best for this pattern but I like the color when I bought it. As it is crinkled it also is very forgiving.
I was planning on putting sleeves on this dress but decided that the fabric did not suit it.
I did place the side bodice panels on the bodice but placed the other panels on the straight of grain. Of course there is a story behind that but I will leave it for now.

What are you most proud of?

I am very pleased with the fit and the comfort of the dress. In the end it came together very well. I really enjoyed the hand stitching in putting in the lining and the transition in the looks of the inside of the dress.
The zipper also went in very well and controlled. I still need to sew in the hook and eye at the top.

As a niece is getting married in March, I may wear this dress or another floor length one in green that I am just finishing following many of these techniques. Once you begin it's hard to stop.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The workshop is extremely well done. If you work slowly and follow Susan's instructions you will be successful.

Of course, make a muslin...................
