What materials did you use? Wool

Miss Cara on craftsy.com

What are you most proud of? The wool didn't lay like the muslin so after I sewed the skirt piece to the bodice, I was horrified. It was way too poofy. I had to improvise and try three different skirt patterns until finally I came up with my own pencil skirt. The pencil skirt is loose in the back so there doesn't need to be a slit. I purchased an extra long zipper, and the zipper slides down both the side and the bodice.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Patience, Patience, Patience! But be prepared to find a new love for a new technique of sewing.

Love your dress with the contrasting fabric inside the cap sleeves. You did a great job modifying the pattern and the inside looks pretty too! Enjoy wearing it.

This is so beautiful and fun. looks super intricate and well made. :) May I ask what type of underlining is that? and did you use basing?

The underlining is a polyester organza from JoAnn's. It actually is easier to work with and thicker than silk organza, and my favorite dresses are underlined with poly organza, for some reason, it holds its shape well. And yes, I did use basting, the entire dress was hand basted.
