What materials did you use? I used a crushed teal Taffeta underlined with Silk Organza .

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the fit of this dress, I honestly think it is the best quality item I have sewn to date. I loved all the hand stitching and I don't think I'll ever go back to machine stitching a zipper again.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take your time and enjoy the process.

This is lovely! I like the Paul Poiret look of the skirt. How did you do it? Which skirt view did you start with? How did you make the pleats? Looks like you took the middle section out of the dress. Why? Would it have interfered with the pleats?

Hello , I used Vogue 8511 which is an alternative pattern that Susan recommends for the course.I pretty much made it as drafted. The only changes were extra room in the bust area , and fitted it better around my shoulders.

Lovely workmanship, good on you for using a pattern that you prefer. I made the correct pattern, and the dress just wasn't my style, but I learned a lot from Susan.

your dress is quite lovely. i especially love the color and that pattern is perfect for you. i see you added sleeves and that's my style exactly...but something i'm not experienced with to add to patterns without them to begin with! but i love how you made it, it's very elegant yet simple. wonderful job.
