Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Free-Motion Quilting with Feathers »

Instructions

Have fun! I repeated the design in the narrower borders by using 1/2 feathers that mirrored the larger feathers. Practice drawing it to scale first (and often) on paper.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Other

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

Cotton fabrics, Warm and White batting.

What was your inspiration?

Angela Walter's Feather class!

What are you most proud of?

Learning how to turn the corner (literally!) and give the spine a nice curve.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't try this on your best quilt until you've done a lot of practicing. I always draw it out on paper first. It gets easier to make a pretty feather when you practice. They won't all be perfect - accept that and just keep going.

Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. Your curves are so curvy and you come back to the stem at such a nice angle. They flow so well.
