What was your inspiration?
I have seen rings like this on other sites and I liked the way they look. I really love the look of copper and thought it would work well in this design.
What are you most proud of?
I like the tight spiral, which keeps the profile of the ring low.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Start with inexpensive copper wire in a smaller gauge to practice. Keep the ring on the mandrel while wrapping the rosette to keep the shape of the ring.
I hold the mandrel between my knees as I wrap. You could also put the mandrel in a vise to hold it in place.
