Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Holiday, Romantic, Classic, Traditional

Materials

Crochet cotton, size 10, in 350 yd. (320 m) balls - 3-5 balls of Blue-Green; and a size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook.

What was your inspiration?

I love working with thread and figuring out connect-as-you-go motifs. When I saw this color thread, I had to create something with it.

What are you most proud of?

I really like the way this turned out with the lace edging and the versatility of the triangle-shaped design. It was a lot of fun to make.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you love working with thread, this is a great project for the intermediate crocheter. Written instructions and charts are provided to create three different sizes: 58-1/2 wide x 17-3/4 long, 70 wide x 21 long, and 81-1/2 wide x 24-1/4 long.

The pattern is available for $4.00 and is written in U.S. terms.

Sorry, I was being a bit thick!! I didn't realise the title of the pattern was the link!! Have now purchased your lovely shawl pattern and am looking forward to working on it - and hopefully using it for my daughter's wedding in October.

This was the first pattern I entered on Craftsy and I didn't figure out how the links were set up right away either until Stephanie & Josh helped me out. I fell in love with this color and had a lot of fun working on this! Hope you'll enjoy it, too! Happy Crocheting!

Absolutely gorgeous - I have been looking for a light shawl for ages and this is exactly what I was looking for, but I can't find the link to the pattern.

how long did it take you to make this?

I think about two weeks. It's made with a connect-as-you-go hexagon motif that creates the triangle shape, with 1/2 hexagon motifs across the top to make a straight edge. The border is then added around the two angled sides.
