I used a very small amount of brown 4ply wool, and an even smaller amount of tan wool. Also you will need a little wadding to stuff your conker.
What was your inspiration?
Conkers are the fruit of the horse chestnut tree, and are traditionally collected in autumn in the UK as children play a game with them. Have a look at my blog if you want a bit more information on this at http://ginxcraft.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/more-bonkers-conkers.html
What are you most proud of?
I was really pleased with the way the conkers turned out, as it was as close as I could get to the shape in nature. The aren't just a ball. The way I have constructed them, gives the top the characteristic dimple.
But I do realise some people may be thinking "Why knit a conker?", and I can only reply "Why not!".
