Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

Some of the blocks are inspired by this course and how to do paper piecing. The compasses designs blocks are from another BOM which I came across browsing in Craftsy patterns. http://www.quiltingonthesquare.com/compass-collection.aspx

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod, Classic

Materials

Pure cotton fabrics for patchwork and 100% Bamboo stuffing for quilting.

What was your inspiration?

BOM course and another BOM which I came across in Craftsy Patterns department. All free patterns and instructions. Great to follow up.

What are you most proud of?

When started I had never made before paper piecing and my goal was to get some skills on it. When finished the quilt I was very pleased with my results all thanks to Craftsy and to Amy Gibson inspiration during the classes. Thanks guys.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just get involve and start to do things. It is very rewarding......it was for me. There is so much inspiration around!

Wow! Great quilt! Love the color! I'm also doing the compass collection at quilting on the square but you are so far ahead of me! Seeing your quilt, I think I will set my blocks on point if I ever get them all done. Another project for 2013!

Just beautiful! Makes me think about trying pping again. The results are so pretty through I really struggled with the process. You've done a wonderful job and should be very proud!

When I use to go to Amish quilt auctions in Amhearst Wisconsin I would see lines of quilts that used a lot of black. This reminds me so much of their style. (I think they had a lot of black clothes to recycle, not sure though.) I love this, the colors give it a very modern look.

Absolutely beautiful! The black background to the blocks really makes them stand out and putting them on point makes your quilt amazingly different!

You did a beautiful job on all those blocks! I also started adding different blocks to my BOM class, some I saw online and some I made up. It's more fun that way!
