Instructions

Check for errata on the pattern - the pattern is from Knitting Green distributed by Interweave Press.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Funky, Casual

Materials

8 skeins of Nashua Hand Knit Cotton in color CFCT017 - Light Blue, one button.

What was your inspiration?

Love the entire book, Knitting Green, but this knapsack was so cute and looked like a fun challenge, and it was. I eventually gave to my niece, Maddie, and she uses it all the time. When she was in NYC using it people came up to her on the street wanting to get one.

What are you most proud of?

That it came out so beautiful.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are making this for someone larger than a size 8 or so, lengthen your straps. I was unable to wear the knapsack as the straps were pretty short for me. They fit my niece perfectly. Also, the flap in the photo does not look anywhere near as big as it turns out. In my photo I have folded over several inches on each side so your can see the work on the knapsack.

Thanks - it was fun, but make sure you check interweave for errata as I found a mistake, small one, but you will want to have the fix.

Thanks so much - no lining - you would need a bag or pouch for small items, my niece uses it for books - I thought of lining it with cloth but decided not to,
