Materials
Kathy's Fibres, "Sky" and "Strelitzia" colourways and some red rovings from my stash
What was your inspiration?
The lesson on colour mixing. I don't think I would have used the Strelitzia colour if not for this course!
What are you most proud of?
That I have used up some stash that I otherwise wouldn't have had a use for, and have made a fun, interesting yarn out of it! I can't wait to swatch it up!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
When spinning, hold your hands a little further apart than you might normally. This allows you to draw out the fibres a little bit more easily and ensure that you're getting all three colourways more or less evenly. A long draw method might not be suitable (as you may find that you just get one or two of the colours drawing out), but if your hands are too close together you'll find that you get lots of lumps as the twist enters the fibre before you want it to.
