What needles did you use? US 4 / 3.5 mm

What materials did you use? I used Debbie Bliss Rialto Lace yarn, size 3.5 mm (80 cm) circular needle. The pattern by Veera Valimaki I downloaded from Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/color-affection. I'd seen the shawl in a wool shop in Portland Oregon and thought I'd like to make it. I bought the yarn at home.

What are you most proud of? First time I've knit with lace weight yarn - took forever - nearly six months - largely because there were so many stitches on the needle (almost 600) that boredom simply took over.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The yarn called for a 2.5 mm needle, I switched to a 3.5 mm and I should have used at least a 4.5 mm circular (80 cm) needle to get the loose effect the shawl calls for - that would also have reduced the number of stitches on those rows at the bottom.
