Schaefer Yarns Andrea 100% silk in a palette of gold/rust/brown/fuchsia

What was your inspiration?

The palette of gold/rust/brown/fuchsia reminded me of Autumn's splendor of color.

What are you most proud of?

The scarf is knitted from end to end in one piece (i.e. no seams to sew or graft, and no stitches to pick up). Dainty look-alike scalloped edgings begin and end the scarf. The outer border is knit as-you-go in a textured garter-based lace that sets off the main area with a visual mixing of colors.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Allow 325 yards of laceweight yarn for blocked measurements of 8" x 58" scarf, or desired length and width with yardage adjustment. Average of 7 stitches/inch over combination of border and main patterns, size US 5 / 3.75 mm needles suggested. Charted and written stitch instructions.

Schaefer doesn't have an exact color name for the yarn I used, but it is a somewhat brighter and more intense version of the color they call Louisa May Alcott.
