What was your inspiration?
I had some leftover yarn (again), and liked the way these three yarns looked together. I took a chance and hoped that I had enough to do one side in one color, the other side in a second color, and the handles and gussett in the third color. Lucky me! It worked out great.
What are you most proud of?
The color combination -- it's so fun!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The bag was supposed to be 9 x 12 x 3.5 inches, according to the pattern. Usually my gauge is very close to any pattern's gauge. For some reason, my bag would have turned out significantly smaller than the pattern said had I not added four stitches to the starting chain for the front and back sides, and made necessary adjustments elsewhere. As it is, the bag is still slightly smaller than the pattern says it should be. It wasn't critical for me, but if you want 9 x 12, make sure to check your gauge first.
