What was your inspiration?
I have always loved to crochet baby and toddler clothing. My Grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 10 years old, And I just fell in love with it. I wanted to bring crochet back and show people that it can be just as fun to make as it is to see on your little ones. This dress is actually fairly simple to create. I found the original pattern on Freecrochet.com. It is called the Colleen Dress designed by Robin L. Murphy. The Crocheted hat is my own pattern, but you can add a beautiful Headband or crocheted flower clip that will Accessorize this garment beautifully.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of this little dress, I have currently started working on the minature version of this dress for Reborn dolls. I have made a few changes to the pattern and have included my own hat pattern to match. I have found that it is my best seller on My Etsy shop.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I would suggest, just using your imagination. You can use any color you like, I used a soft pink and white sport yarn, and added a crocheted hat with matching flower, to give it more of a personal touch. Don't be afraid of color. Show off your favorite designs with a touch of your own personal taste.
