What was your inspiration?
Cake - of course! Afternoon tea and cake is lovely - a real treat. But sometimes only morning coffee and cake will sustain me through until lunch-time.
On the pattern page you will see two versions - the one above, the vanilla sponge cake and another version showing chocolate cake. Mmmm, decisions, decisions!
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of the quick method of constructing the mug and cake. In fact, it is so easy that you can double the width of the fabrics and make two in the same time it takes to make one. So it is possible to batch-make this little recipe!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This project can be made from scraps of fabric so play around a little - you won't be wasting money and you may find you create a hitherto unseen cake (pink and purple maybe, or green and red!!). As with all Patchsmith patterns - the aim is to have fun.
