This project was made as part of a Craftsy workshop:
Sensuous Self-Made Soap »

Instructions

Make sure your coconut is plain, no added sweetening. My first try used sweetened flaked coconut, which apparently has vanilla for flavoring. It turned my soap dark brown. It's still good, but the cream color was what I wanted. This is my second batch and I used plainorganic flaked coconut, Crossing my fingers that it doesn't turn brown.

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Functional

For: Unisex

Style: Traditional

Materials

oils, NaOH, water, coconut, kaolin clay, fragrance

What was your inspiration?

I loved my first batch of this soap, even though the white part browned. It feels wonderful on my skin and doesn't dry my skin.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just follow the instructions.

It does. My first batch of this feels so good, I decided to make another.
