What was your inspiration?
I have been making soap for a few years now and when the mood strikes I pay attention. My husband will not use store-bought soap anymore since he's been using mine. When his supply starts getting low he gently reminds me that I need to make more soap. I'm glad to oblige.
What are you most proud of?
The swirly colors turned out the way I wanted them to. I love the fragrance. It is called Energy and I get it from Brambleberry. Smells amazing !!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
READ, READ, READ all safety instructions BEFORE beginning any soap project. The lye can be deadly if not used properly and in a well ventilated area. I use the hot-process method (crock pot that is used ONLY for soap making) so it is very easy to get burned by the soap too.
Once you feel confident, by all means go for it. One more thing... make sure to keep children and pets away from the area where the lye is still active. Until it has made soap, it is still dangerous.
